CHAPTER I

PRELIMINARY

1.1 Background

In this era of competition, the meaning of Pancasila seems to have been forgotten by most Indonesians. Though the history of its formulation went through a very long process by the founders of this country. The sacrifice will be in vain if we do not carry out the mandate of the founders of the country, namely the Pancasila, which is embodied in the opening of the 4th Dynasty of the 1945 Constitution.

Pancasila is a series of unity and unity which is inseparable because each precept in the Pancasila contains four other precepts and the position of each of these precepts cannot be exchanged or moved. This is in accordance with the hierarchical systematic arrangement of precepts, which means that the five precepts of the Pancasila show a series of multilevel sequences, where each precept has its own place in the sequence of the unit so that it cannot be moved.

CHAPTER II

DISCUSSION

2.1 Definition of Science and Science and Technology

Humans as spiritual physical beings as creatures of God Almighty as well as individuals and social beings, in essence as creatures of homo sapiens creatures who have sense beside feeling and willing. As intelligent beings, humans have intellectual abilities that are capable of producing science and technology. science is bound by values, namely moral values, human values, innocent religion. For Pancasila, science is Godhead, human, united, faithful, and just.

So in the development of science and technology must be based on morals, ethics and religious values. In other words, science must be based on scientific ethics and the most important thing in scientific ethics is concerning the life of the dead, the future, human rights and the environment. The things that need to be emphasized are as follows:

Risk of trial and use of science and technology
Possibility of abuse
Applicable moral compatibility
Disruption of resources and even distribution
The individual’s right to choose something according to him

2.2 Pancasila As Development Science

In the effort of humans to realize prosperity and increase their dignity and dignity, humans develop science and technology. Science and Technology (Science and Technology) is essentially a result of human spiritual creativity. The spirit of the human (spiritual) includes aspects of reason, taste, and will. Intellect is human spiritual potential in relations with intellect, taste in the aesthetic field, and will in the field of morality (ethics). On the basis of his creative creativity, humans develop science and technology in order to cultivate the natural resources provided by God Almighty. Therefore the essential goal of science and technology is for the welfare of humanity, so that science and technology in essence is not free of value but bound by value. In this matter, Pancasila has provided a basis for values for the development of science and technology for the welfare of human life.

Pancasila as a philosophy of science must contain multiple values, namely:

It must provide a theoretical (and normative) basis for the mastery and development of science and technology and set its objectives.
Has intrinsic value of science and technology goals which are always based on the mental values of human personality and morals.

The position of philosophy of science must be based on kerokhanian from the scientific system and its development. The mental and moral functions of the human personality in the implementation of science and technology are significant criteria of science. Science must be practically oriented to the interests of the nation. Besides that, the truth that is embraced by the epistomology of Pancasila is the principle of existential truth in order to realize maximum harmony that is in accordance with the levels of physiology, biotics, psychology, and humanity in the context of reference to transcendental ontological norms. With an approach to educating the nation’s life, the epistemology of Pancasila is open to various streams of world philosophy (Dimyati, 2006).

2.3 Impact of Science and Technology Development on Human Life

Science and Technology or commonly abbreviated as science and technology is an impact of globalization at this time. This science and technology is characterized by increasingly advanced and increasingly sophisticated technology so that it can make it easier for us to do things in everyday life. For example, communicating. In the present, we can easily communicate wherever and whenever. This is due to the emergence of various kinds of technologies that facilitate it all, namely mobile phones. This cellphone or mobile phone functions to communicate by telephone, or send each other a short message or what we usually call SMS.

Besides mobile phones, the development of other science and technology is the internet. The internet has positive and negative effects in our daily lives. Actually the impact of the internet is within ourselves, if we use the internet properly such as searching for information about knowledge or looking for something we don’t know and that adds to our knowledge, the internet will have a positive impact on us. However, if we use the internet to search for things that violate the norms in our environment such as watching porn videos, or reading porn stories, the internet has a negative impact on us.

2.4 Effect of Technology on the Ideology of Pancasila

In this day and age, the values of the Pancasila can be said to decline, because most people, especially teenagers, use a lot of Western culture rather than the values of Pancasila. For example from how to dress, many of our teenagers dress up like celebrities who tend to Western culture. They use clothing that lacks material that shows body parts that should not be visible. In terms of how the dress is clearly not in accordance with our culture. Do not miss their hairstyles painted in various colors. So that many teenagers who are characterized as westerners, for example, who often occur today, neglect the obligation to worship every time, lack respect for parents, family and others, also familiarize themselves with things that are forbidden such as drugs, addictive substances, free sex . Actually all of that has nothing to gain but only harms himself.

Today’s social media that should be positive actually makes teenagers use it for negative things. For example: Facebook, Twitter, Istagram, BBM, and so on. What is utilized is not a positive impact but a negative impact and deviates from the provisions of the values and norms in the Pancasila. For example, fraud committed by a group of people for their own sake. From this example it is clear that it deviates from the norms of Religion, because doing fraud can harm others and those who do it will sin.

In this era of globalization the role of the Pancasila is certainly very important to maintain the existence of the personality of the Indonesian nation. Because with globalization, the boundaries of boundaries between countries seem invisible, so that various foreign cultures can enter easily into society.

This can have a positive and negative impact on the Indonesian people. If we can filter well the various things that arise from the impact of globalization, of course globalization will be a positive thing because it can add insight and strengthen relations between nations and countries in the world. But if we cannot filter well then negative things from impacts globalization can damage the morale of the nation and the existence of Indonesian culture.

The development of technology that is currently developing very rapidly in society is information technology. Almost everyone agrees that information technology has, is and will change human life by promising more effective, more useful, and more creative ways of working and living. As two sides, good and bad, information technology also has this. As technology, both sides are very dependent on the wearer.

Seeing the reality in society, actually not the Pancasila which is affected by the development of information technology but the society itself. Giving good or bad influence on the Pancasila depends on how the community as a follower of the Pancasila ideology responds to the development of information technology.

CHAPTER III

COVER

3.1 Conclusions

Pancasila is the basis of the Republic of Indonesia which was formulated from the process of acculturation of the archipelago’s culture which lasted for centuries. As a state foundation, Pancasila is the view of the Indonesian nation’s life in nation and state. Pancasila as a system of philosophy is essentially a system of knowledge. In everyday life Pancasila becomes a guideline or basis for the Indonesian people in looking at the reality of the universe, people, society, nation and state about the meaning of life and as a basis for Indonesian people to solve problems faced in life and life. Pancasila philosophy is a foundation in the process of thinking and knowledge.

Pancasila as the foundation of the country consists of five precepts which come from the thoughts of the results of acculturation of the archipelago’s culture. Principles in Pancasila have relevance or relationship and are based on each other. The first precepts, the One Godhead is the main foundation of the other four precepts. This makes the Pancasila as an interrelated system inseparable.

The development of science in Indonesia cannot be separated from the outside world. Science in Indonesia has basically taken place before the era of the European nation entered the archipelago until the post-independence period. The development of science and technology is through educational institutions, this is based on the spirit of ‘educating the nation’s life’ as stated in the Preamble of the 1945 Constitution. Scientists and scholars must have the spirit of developing and creating science and technology aimed at the welfare and benefit of humanity
